A striking piece of commissioned art marks a place as special, giving it distinction and character. ‘fabrications’ are eye-catching and suitable for homes and offices, foyers and corridors, churches and waiting rooms. They can be tailor-made for special gifts for anniversaries, birthdays or other occasions.
The pieces vary in size, shape, and texture. Flowers and birds have become specialist topics. This abstract was chosen for the catalogue of the National Embroidery Championships and abstracts often provide the background for church hangings. The pictures are 3D in effect having been built up with a variety of carefully chosen fabrics and threads often hand-dyed for the particular purpose. As a retired dental surgeon Christine Osborne enjoys intricate work with her fingers and more samples may be seen in the Gallery.

Poppy Field (18x22cm)
Travelling Light (54x31cm) was the title for a National Championship and this abstract was my chosen interpretation. The gold motif is based on a charcoal abstract by my niece. The light flashes over a background made from more than one hundred fabric pieces of various textures. A photograph of this piece was chosen for the catalogue for the exhibition guide for the Championship.
